GENERAL APPEARANCE : Large pack hound, elegant, sufficiently well boned and muscled.
SIZE :
Height at the withers: from 62 to 72 cm for the males; from 60 to 68 cm for the females.
SKIN : Quite fine.
COAT :
HAIR: Short and rather fine.
COLOUR : Tricolor, with black mantle more or less spread out. Tan preferably bright or even copper-tanned. Neither blackenedtan on the cheeks and on the lips nor the blue or tan flecking on the legs and on the body are to be sought after. The grizzled "wolf" color is admitted.
HEAD : Not too imposing, but quite elongated; occipital protuberance marked.
Skull : Very slightly domed, skull quite developed.
Stop : More accentuated than in the Pointevin.
Muzzle : Straight, rather long and sometimes slightly arched.
Nose : Black; open nostrils.
Lips/Flews : More substantial than in the Pointevin, i.e. very slightly large.
Eyes : Big and brown, sometimes circled with black. Intelligent expression.
Ears/Leathers : Broader than those of the Poitevin, set at eye level, slightly curled, not too supple, preferably extending to theset-on of the nose or within two fingers of it.
NECK : Long, rather strong and sometimes with a slight trace of dewlap.
BODY :
Back : Sustained and solid.
Chest : Deep and well let down, at least as far down as the point of the elbows.
Ribs : Long and not too flat.
Belly : Very slightly tucked up.
Croup : Well laid, in harmony with the forequarters.
LIMBS
FOREQUARTERS : Well positioned, broad and straight.
Shoulders : Long and close to the chest.
Forefeet : Lean.
HINDQUARTERS
Thighs : Long, sufficiently muscled.
Hocks : Rather broad, low set, slightly bent.
Hindfeet : Lean.
TAIL : Quite long, carried high and with elegance.
GAIT / MOVEMENT : Easy and light.
FAULTS :
- should be regarded in
exact proportion to its degree.
- Leathers too flat, too short or set too high.
- Undershot or overshot mouth.
- Pink spots on the nose.
- Light eyes.
- Legs badly positioned or thin.
- Hocks too straight.
- Fat feet.
- Any apparent trace of English hound blood, especially in the head.
- "Smoky" colored heads which indicate cross-breeding with the White and Black
Hound and all other colors other than those above mentioned.
ELIMINATING FAULTS : Any dog clearly showing physical or behavioural abnormalities shall be disqualified.

TEMPERAMENT : Hardy, strong, quick, courageous, and tenacious, the Anglo-French Hound adores hunting. He hunts large and small game on all types of terrain. He requires firm training.
SIZE :
Height : 62 - 72 cm.
COLOR : Large mantle, black spots of varying size, sometimes with black or steel-grey flecks (or tan flecks, only on the legs). Pale spots above the eyes (pips), light tan markings on the cheeks, below the eyes and ears, and at the base of the tail.
BREED QUALITY :
Head : Quite short and broad.
Skull: Rather broad and flat without occipital protuberance; superciliary arches not prominent.
Stop: Well marked.
Eyes : Big, brown and dark.
Ears : Set on quite broadly at eye level line or slightly above, quite thick, slightly turned and rather short.
Bite : Scissor bite.
Neck : Straight; slight dewlap.
BODY :
Back: Broad and muscular.
Loin: Broad, rather short.
Croup: Rather round.
Chest: Quite high and let down.
Ribs: Long, slightly rounded.
Flank: Well filled.

GENERAL APPEARANCE Quite a strong dog, powerful, showing even more English blood in his head than his tricolor counterpart.
HEAD Quite short and broad.
CRANIAL REGION
Skull Rather broad and flat without occipital protuberance;
superciliary arches not prominent.
Stop Well marked.
FACIAL REGION
Nose : Black and orangy brown.
Muzzle Bridge of nose rather short.
Lips : Extending over the lower jaw and giving the muzzle some
squareness.
Eyes : Big, brown and dark.
Leathers : Set on quite broadly at eye level line or slightly
above, quite thick, slightly turned and rather short.
NECK Straight; slight dewlap.
BODY
Back Broad and muscular.
Loin Broad, rather short.
Croup : Rather round.
Chest : Quite high and let down.
Ribs Long, slightly rounded.
Flank : Well filled.
TAIL Quite long, sometimes with few longer and coarser round

Section 1.2 Medium-sized Hounds.
With working trial.
GENERAL APPEARANCE : Balanced and solidly built dog, but without heaviness. Seen in profile, his outline must lean towards that of a well established French hound.
HEAD : Elongated, not too broad, occipital crest not too accentuated.
CRANIAL REGION :
Skull : Slightly convex, without being domed.
Stop : Barely marked.
FACIAL REGION :
Nose : Well pigmented, nostrils well open.
Muzzle : Moderately elongated, appearence a little pointed; bridge of the nose straight or slightly arched.
Lips : The upper lip covers the lower lip.
Eyes : Big, brown, with a soft but lively expression.
Leathers : Finely attached below the eye level line, flexible, slightly turned, of medium width and reaching at least by two fingers the border of the nose.
NECK : Clean, without dewlap.
BODY :
Back : Firm and straight.
Loin : Quite short and muscled.
Croup : Slightly inclined and quite long.
Chest : Let down, reaching at least the point of the elbow, well developed. Ribs long and moderately rounded.
Flank : Quite full, a little tucked up but without a whippety look.
TAIL : Of medium length, quite fine, well set in the extension of the loin line, with thick hair, but without some longer and coarser, slightly offstanding hairs (like ears of grain) towards the tip.
LIMBS
FOREQUARTERS : Sufficiently strong, broad and straight.
Shoulders : Shoulder blade long, flat and sloping, well attached to the chest.
HINDQUARTERS :
Thighs : Muscular and deep.
Hocks : Slightly bent and quite close to the ground.
FEET : Lean and tight.
SKIN : Fine, without folds, firm tissues.
COAT
HAIR : Short, dense and smooth.
COLOUR :
· Tricolour: white and black with bright tan markings, black nose.
· White and black with pale tan markings, black nose.
· Bicolour: white and orange, brown (tobacco) nose.
SIZE :
Height at the withers : 48 - 56 cm.
With a minimal and maximum tolerance of 2 cm for the exceptional subjects.
